A curious lynx cub who wants to get to know Pustevny and the country around it with you.
Who is Rysík?
Rysík is a lynx cub, curious about the Beskids and Moravian Wallachia. This country is close to him - lynxes his own age live here, above all in the mountain forests around Lysá hora, Smrk and Kněhyně.
A grown lynx is a loner and walks the country on his own. Rysík has that still ahead of him. While he is a cub he travels in your phone, asking you to help him reach as many places as possible.
At first he has nothing, because he has not been anywhere yet. After the first visit he gets a map and a compass and is eager to explore further places. The second rank puts the traditional costume on him, and the third completes it into a full set of gear. He becomes a Bača, in manner and in looks.
An expedition with Rysík
An expedition is a themed story that takes you through several places.
Families with children get the most out of it. A child works through the tasks together with Rysík and picks up facts about the places and the region along the way.

At the start Rysík has only his scout neckerchief and the urge to explore. Everything is still ahead of him: the Beskids, the Wallachian customs and the costume of the region. At the third rank he is a Bača through and through - and all of it thanks to the places you have visited with him.
The rank grows for the two of you together. You are getting to know the country side by side, after all. The ladder follows the career on the salaš: it began as a honelník, the herding boy, went on through the Valach and ended at the Bača.

Pilgrim
Outdoors for the first time.
Until now Rysík has been nowhere and knows the region from a screen. The first place visited is his first experience. There he gets a map of the region and a compass, and his appetite for exploring grows with them.
Pilgrim is the oldest title to be earned here. People have walked this country since time out of mind - up Radhošť for the pilgrimage feasts, over the ridges into Hungary. What counts is arriving. How far it adds up to along the way does not matter.
Pick a programme to match the time you have, and set out. Where you get to is not the point. Once you are there, collect your stamp. A single one turns the two of you into a pilgrim.
For the rank of Pilgrim, confirming your location at any one place is enough.

Valach
He is starting to belong here.
Five places make a habit - too many of them for coincidence. Rysík puts on the traditional costume and starts to feel like a Valach.
A Valach runs the flock in his care on his own at the salaš, the shepherds' summer station. He has to know the paseky - the scattered clearing settlements on the slopes - the weather and the ways through, because he answers for what is put in his hands.
Mark the places that appeal to you with a heart and walk them your own way. Five stamps and you are a Valach.

Bača
He has walked the story from beginning to end.
On the expedition Rysík adds a hat and a valaška to the costume - a small axe on a long handle that serves as a staff and as a tool. From then on his gear is complete and he is a Bača through and through.
A Bača runs the salaš himself: he divides up the work, makes the cheese and keeps a tally stick of how many sheep belong to whom and how much they yield. Rysík now stands at the top of the Wallachian hierarchy.

In the field
How do you get a stamp?
On a place page, the section “Where exactly it is” holds the Beskids passport card. Inside it is the button “Confirm your visit”. After the click, the browser asks for your location once and issues the stamp. No internet or signal is needed. It all happens in the browser alone.
Playing along with Rysík is optional. It is an extra layer aimed above all at families with children. The site itself works in full without it.
