A circuit around the settlements of the Makov Kopanice: from the chapel above Kršlisko over the ridge to the bell tower at Gregušovci and back down to the four-hundred-year-old elm that Makov carries in its arms.

From the Kopanice – Papaje bus stop follow the blue waymarks towards Kršlisko, up a broad field and forest track to the settlement. The chapel with its added bell tower stands above the houses at the edge of a meadow.

Carry on along the blue waymarks to the U Lovásov saddle. The route passes below Papajova Kykula (966 m) and by a few log cottages, and in the saddle it joins the red ridge waymarks.

Through the Nad Zápačou junction the red waymarks turn off the ridge and drop down a skid road to Papajovci.

The Greguše settlementThe waymarks run above the settlement; from the junction the way to the log cottages and the bell tower at Gregušovci drops below the ridge and comes back the same way. 
Brest u Papají10,5 km from the startOne of the oldest field elms in central Europe grows by a cottage in the U Papají settlement. The trunk has a girth of 676 cm, over 11 metres at the root buttresses, the tree is about 30 metres tall and its age is estimated at 400 years. Makov put it into its arms – a golden elm with four roots for the four parts of the village.
